Wanna camp with us?
Member application
We’re looking for a few good shrimp to join us for the 2026 burn. If you’ve been vibing with our microwaves, fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch with next steps!
Employee Resources
Camp Water
The essence of life. We are a pool after all. But like all pool water, DON’T DRINK IT. We got you covered with a limited* supply for cooking, cleaning, and showering.
*Approx 15 gal/person for the week, self-administered. Also yes, you can drink the water but we still encourage campers to bring their own sips.
Camp Porta
We mean business about doing business. That’s why we elect to have a camp Porta on-site. To save the smell in your RVs and make life easier on tenters, we keep it stocked and locked so you can do your doo in style.
Camp Kitchen
Hungry? Our center for culinary excellence is the place to be! Make your breakfast, cook your dinner, or contribute to a camp meal — we have the facilities that will keep you fed. But wait, there’s more! The Pool stocks a pantry of just-add-water, heat-to-serve and light cook items to keep you properly satiated throughout the burn. Still bring what you need, but know we got you covered for those late night snacks.
Camp Power
Let there be light! Let there be AC! Save your RV gas and lock into our camp generator instead. It’s how we keep the freezer frozen, tenters from going dark, the microwave spinning, our lights bright, and our sound bumpin’.
Camp Showers
There’s nothing like the luxury of a potentially warm shower on playa. It’s heaven-sent in the dry, arid Black Rock. Your water allocation should carry through for the week unless you decide to do something weird with it. In that case there are always baby wipes…
Camp Shade
It’s hot. You’re hot. We’re hot. One, thank you for being here. And two, cool it baby! We know you’re sunshine incarnate, but we’ve also got structure to shield you from it. The only burning we want is the Man, not you.
Employee Conduct
Join camp calls, be responsive
As planning draws nearer, we expect members to actively participate in building camp. As a baseline, that means joining camp calls camp calls to remain aligned with all the logistics and details it takes to plan and execute a successful Burn together.
Camp shifts
Most camp member will be expected to complete three shifts throughout the week. One during our Spring Break party, one during another camp-hosted activity, and one “camp support” shift — a behind the scenes job a la deep LNT sweep. Veteran burners can substitute a volunteer shift somewhere in the city (DPW, Gate, Airport, Rangers, Artery, etc.) for a camp shift.
Camp build
Members are expected to participate in the building of camp. About half our camp arrives before gates open to install our frontage, power grid, showers, kitchen and shade. Advance builders who arrive Thursday or earlier can skip a Burn week shift or elect to depart during the second day of strike.
Camp strike
All Shrimp must assist with taking down frontage, packing up common areas, and sweeping our site so we leave no trace. Camp begins preparing for strike on Friday of Burn week, and the main strike occurs Sunday of Burn week. While exceptions can be made for extenuating circumstances, anyone who is not an advance builder is expected to strike through Sunday evening.
Pay camp dues
Dues, just like you, power our camp so we have a great experience both on and off playa. We expect you to pay in full and in a timely manner, since these directly fund all of the resources you get to use! Note that we hold fundraisers throughout the year to make dues as accessible as possible.
